I've been a baaaaad blogger

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I've been SO busy!!  Yardwork, birthday parties, work, more yardwork, housework, and more yardwork.  Just about done with the yardwork - cleaning out gardens that hadn't been cleaned out in years.  Also pulling weeds and cutting down trees!

Here are a couple finishes and a couple updates/new start.

Christmas Garden by BBD.  Just need to add initials and date.  I'm going to use my grandchildren's initials.  The newest grandbaby will be here in July!

Twisted Band Sampler by Northern Expressions (new start)  Loving stitching this one~
I finished all but one piece of the Hardanger Accessories by Nordic Needle.  Goofed and don't have enough fabric for the scissors fob and the sachet still needs to be put together.  Can't get the picture to rotate!  Sorry!
Emma Miles by The Scarlet Letter.  I hope to work on this one again soon.

That's it for now.  I hope to be back soon with more updates and I've been doing some beading too!

Have a great day!

Froggers, wins, stash, updates, and finishes!

Hello!  Sorry I haven't posted sooner.  Life is busy around here lately and a few days under the weather didn't help any.

(warning- picture heavy post)

I do have a little bead finish.  I made these 2 froggers using cloisonne beads, swarovski crystals, rose quartz beads, and 2 adorable frogs, one in rose quartz, and the other green aventurine.  Aren't they cute?
I won a giveaway from Kathy over at Gracewood Stitches.  Check out her blog and designs. Both are lovely!  A huge bag of silk flosses, fabric, and a lovely coaster with an Ackworth School design on it.  Yay me!  :-)  Thanks Kathy!!

Last Saturday (March 1) we had a get together at an LNS and here is what I bought.  A needle nanny (bad picture, sorry)
This wonderful stand at 30% off!

and these charts

I can't get the picture to rotate, sorry.  Actually, it's 2 charts and a kit.  The Periwinkle Promises kit was only $3!

And a finish!  I started this hardanger piece, China Rose by Cindy Valentine, back in 2008 or 2009 and it's finally done!  woo hoo!
 A close up
I joined an SAL on Facebook for A Christmas Garden by BBD and here is where I am on it.  Loving stitching this one!
I also started (Last year some time) a reproduction sampler from Scarlet Letter and here is where I am on it.  I was too lazy to take it off of the Q-snaps, sorry, but this is all I've gotten done since the last update.  Loving stitching on this one too!
Look who's feeling better!
We're having great weather, for the time being.  Supposed to get some more of that ugly white stuff on Wednesday,  Ugh!

Take care!~~

Life's a stitch and a sick puppy

I had to take my oldest dog, Allie, to the vet today.  She had an anal gland abscess and rupture.  She's still dopy from the anesthesia.

This is my first stitchy finish this year.  Stitched on unknown linen/evenweave with Dinky Dyes silks.  It was a fun stitch!

I hope everyone is warm and safe!  I'll be back soon with some other updates.

Lasts and firsts

Last finish of 2013 was the top bracelet - jet swarovski bicones, gold seed beads, and a gold toggle clasp.
First finishes of 2014 are the next 3 bracelets - 2nd one is peridot, amethyst, garnet, sapphire, and topaz swarovskis with gold seeds and toggle, next is crystal AB swarovskis and gold seed beads and toggle, and the last one is garnet swarovskis with gold seed beads and toggle.
First start of 2014 is Life's a Stitch done on unknown evenweave with Dinky Dyes silks.

I'm doing an SAL of Christmas Garden by BBD.  Stitching on New Castle (40 ct) linen with HDF silks, 1 over 2.  Loving this piece and I'm not normally a fan of BBD!

Kitty sleeping bag,LOL!
 What it's doing outside......
This picture was taken this morning around 10 or 11.  Now it is after midnight and it's still snowing!  We have over 12" on the ground and now the wind and bitter cold is moving in.  Yikes!  Temps later today are supposed to be around -17F with wind chills in the -40's!  I hope everyone in the storm is safe and warm!  I'm staying in and stitching and beading!!

Bravo!

I just finished watching The Sound of Music Live with Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer.  Wow!  While it wasn't as good as the original - who can best Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer? - it was great!!  Mom and I bawled through most of it.  It was my dad's favorite movie (he passed away over 2 years ago)

Well done!!!

It was a great movie night.  It is snowing and icing here and we are under a winter storm warning until Friday midnight!  I hope everyone in the path of this storm is home safe and warm!!

Five weeks!!

Five weeks since I've posted any updates.  Wow!  Sorry!  Here are some finishes, purchases, gifts, and giveaway wins......

Two pair of earrings - finish

Two stitched finishes - freebies from Stitchy Kitty

A birthday gift

A giveaway win from Nicola's Scarlet Year....

Stash purchases - first from Homespun Elegance....

Some Mill Hill kits from a local shop...

And a "finish" finish.  I stitched this piece YEARS ago and finally finished it into a box.  I'm pleased with the way it turned out.  The verse reads "Beautiful threads  stitched dreams created in soft and peaceful hours"  I don't remember when I stitched it, but it was a long time ago.

I hope to be back soon with some more updates.  I have been very busy with all of  our November birthdays and raking leaves!

Take care!~~~
