Hello!

Wow, I haven't posted since September!  It has been crazy busy around here, but starting to calm down some.  My oldest grandson is in a marching band and most Saturdays were spent watching them.  They got first in the state in their class!  Woo hoo!

I've been doing stitching, crocheting, and beading.  Making some items for Christmas  presents.  I got a new laptop, so should be able to post more often as it's easier again.

Here is some beading I've done recently.  Two pairs of earrings finished, a bracelet (no picture), and started a necklace.   The necklace pattern is from Potomac Beads and it is SO sparkly!

The earrings on the left are diamond duos and seeds.  The ones on the right are superduos and seeds.  Both fun and easy to make!  The right side pair are a free pattern from Deb Roberti at Around the Beading Table.

Mom is doing as well as can be expected.  She's happy and in no pain and I'm glad she is still with us!  Luckily, I was able to get her in a facility that is less than 2 miles from home.  They are taking very good care of her.

My granddaughters are doing very well also.  Cat finished her treatment in May and her hair is growing back.  Emmy had surgery in May and it was found to be non cancerous!  She has healed very well and both girls are keeping their big brother and parents busy!

I will try to get back soon with some stitching updates.   If I don't, I hope you all have a great Christmas and a very safe and happy New Year!

Ta da!

She is done!  Angel of Spring by Lavender and Lace.  Done on 32 ct. linen with called for fibers and beads.
Picked this up at a flea market this summer.
Bought these last week.
Finished this a while back, too.  Just need to cut out and put a hanger on.

Can't get the picture to rotate, sorry.

Mom and Catriona are both doing well!

If I don't get back soon, Happy Holidays!

A lot to be thankful for

My granddaughter comes home today from the hospital where she had lung surgery 2 weeks ago.  She is doing very well and won't start back on the chemo until after tomorrow (Thanksgiving).

I will try to keep the rest as short as possible.  Since October 6/7, this has happened to my mom (she's 79) - ER w/severe belly pain, perforated bowel, emergency surgery, colostomy, sent to rehab 2 days, sent back to hospital with pneumonia and sepsis; spent 8-9 days there, back to rehab - came home on a Saturday (11th, I think) and by Sunday night/Monday morning, couldn't walk, low BP (60/40), back to ER in ambulance, everything checked out fine, back home.  Next day, couldn't walk, almost passed out, O2 levels dropped drastically, back to ER in ambulance, CT Scan showed pulmonary embolism.  Spent from Tuesday to Friday in hospital and is finally back home and doing very well!!  So yes, we have a LOT to be thankful for this year!

I'll try to be back sometime over the long weekend with an update.  I have stash to show off!!!  LOL!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Giveaway and update

Nancy over at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe is having another giveaway.  This time, it is fall colors in floss!

Catriona is doing pretty well.  She is off of the oxygen now, which allows her to leave her room and go to the play areas.  Her and her mom went to 2 of them on Thursday or Friday and it was a HUGE morale booster for little Catriona.  I saw a picture of her playing and she was practically glowing!  Keep the prayers and good thoughts coming.  She is far from out of the woods.

Thanks!

Presenting

Princess Tough Cookie
Or is she ...
Tinkerbell?

She is doing well.  Her appetite has improved and she kept her lunch down today.  Her spirits are good, too.  She got mad at her dad (my son) today for no reason :-)  she has had one round of chemo and has the next round Friday and Saturday.

Please keep the prayers and good thoughts coming!

Preliminary diagnosis

Is Pleuropulmonary Blastoma.  I googled it, but couldn't get past the word "cancer" to read any more without crying.

When I can quit crying enough, I'll find out more and let you know.

Update

She is still in the hospital, on oxygen, IV fluids and antibiotics, and pain meds from when they did the biopsy (Friday evening).  We hope to have results back soon.  She's being a very brave little trooper.

The post I mentioned before got posted to the wrong blog!  Oops!  I've removed it from the Chatelaine Stitcher's blog.

Please keep sending good thoughts and prayers.

Update

They were wrong about it being a cyst or abscess.  They don't know what it is and she is having surgery tomorrow at 1 p.m. Eastern time.  Please continue prayers and good thoughts!

I will update again after surgery tomorrow.

(Looks like the post I did earlier with good news never made it here.  Sorry for any confusion.)  Darn blogger!  :-)

Prayer request

I am praying for Texas, but I  am also requesting prayers for my 4 year old granddaughter.  She has a spot on her lung that is growing.  It is either cancer, a tumor, or severe pneumonia.  She sees a lung specialist tomorrow morning at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.  Please, if you can, pray for her and her parents.  Thank you!!

Two finishes

Finished the afghan for my first granddaughter a few days ago.

I used Caron worsted weight in white and pink and pink ribbon woven along the edges.

And this is who it is for!

Catriona (Irish for Katrina) Lucille arrived today 6/27/13 at 5:55 p.m.  She weighed in at 4 pounds, 9 ounces and is 18 1/2" long.  She has lots of dark hair, beautiful hands, and a cleft in her chin just like her dad!  Best of all is that she is very healthy and mom is doing well too!
