Ornaments

Before my world turned upside down, I finished these ornaments, except for any trims.

They are kind of hard to see.  I hope to do some trims this coming weekend.

Received some gorgeous flowers for my mom, this one from a cousin.

I hope 2021 is better for all of us!

Summer, don't go!

I am so sad to see summer at an end.  It is my favorite season.

Here are a couple ornaments I finished in July.  I have since lost my mojo.  Hope it comes back soon!
These were Mill Hill kits.

Saw my mom a couple weeks ago and she looks so good!  She got her hair cut into a pixie cut and it really suits her!  Here is a pic.
Like everyone else,  I don't like the new blogger format.

See you soon!

Bloglovin' and update

Has anyone been having any problems with Bloglovin'?  I can't get to my feed to read blogs!  I'm going through withdrawal! LOL!

My mom is now in Hospice care at the nursing home where she is.  She is in respiratory failure, heart failure, and renal failure.   Don't know how long she has.  She is eating and drinking, but not enough and she is anemic.  Would appreciate prayers and good thoughts!

See ya!~~

Spoke too soon

Mom had a minor stroke last Thursday evening and is in the hospital.  But, she is due to go back to the nursing home today.  She is much better than she was on Thursday, thank goodness!

Unfortunately, I can't go visit her because of a bad cold :-(  Haven't had one in years, and this one is kicking my butt!  Going to the doctor this afternoon.

I don't have internet at home for the time being, so it might be awhile before I can post again with pictures.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New  Year!

Stash and start-itis

Birch bark and blue - Bernat Pop.  I bought 7 skeins that were on sale $2.49 each
Starts - on the frame is Ella The Frog Princess by Mirabilia.  Below that on the left is some stash, 32 ct. Blue Spruce linen and 32 ct raw Opalescent.  Next to that is the start of Welcome Summer bt the Drawn Thread and below that is Summer Mouse Scissor Roll by Just Nan.
Had a Hoosier Stitcher get together yesterday at Fancy Works in Bloomington, Indiana and here is what I got there.  The fabric is French Lace and Raw Natural, both 32 count.
I also have some bead stash, but put it up before I could get pictures.

Mom is hanging in there.  Still doesn't remember or believe what happened.  She wants to come home, but is in no condition to do that.

Stay cool, everyone!

Yet another update

The biopsy came back on the cysts in Emmy's lung and liver - NON CANCEROUS!!!   Whoo hoo!  And she has fully recovered from her surgery.

It was discovered a couple days after mom's heart attack that she also had a major stroke.  Her mental capacity has not improved.  She is in a rehab facility at this time.  Other than her mental health, she seems to be doing well and has no recollection of the heart attack and the stent being placed.  Maybe that's a blessing in disguise?

I've been stitching and beading and crocheting, just need to take pictures to post.  Maybe this weekend.

Stay cool!

Good and bad news

First the good news - Emmy's surgery went very well and she is home now.  The preliminary diagnosis from the pathologist is that it is type 1 PPD, which means NO CHEMO!!!!!!!!!  Yay!  They biopsied her liver and sent it to the lab that is researching this particular cancer for results.  We should hear something later this week or early next week.

The bad news - My mom (79) had a heart attack this past Monday morning.  She is doing well physically now.  One of her arteries was 99% blocked and they placed a stent and she is recovering.  However, they are not sure if it is from the lack of oxygen or normal progression of her Alzheimer's/Dementia, but her mental capacity is MUCH worse than before the attack.  They did say that it can take weeks for her to get back to normal.  But the good news about all of this is she doesn't seem to be in any distress or upset or pain.

I will keep you posted, as I'm able to, about both Emmy and my mom.

Thanks and take care!

She is done!  Angel of Spring by Lavender and Lace.  Done on 32 ct. linen with called for fibers and beads.
Picked this up at a flea market this summer.
Bought these last week.
Finished this a while back, too.  Just need to cut out and put a hanger on.

Can't get the picture to rotate, sorry.

Mom and Catriona are both doing well!

If I don't get back soon, Happy Holidays!

A lot to be thankful for

My granddaughter comes home today from the hospital where she had lung surgery 2 weeks ago.  She is doing very well and won't start back on the chemo until after tomorrow (Thanksgiving).

I will try to keep the rest as short as possible.  Since October 6/7, this has happened to my mom (she's 79) - ER w/severe belly pain, perforated bowel, emergency surgery, colostomy, sent to rehab 2 days, sent back to hospital with pneumonia and sepsis; spent 8-9 days there, back to rehab - came home on a Saturday (11th, I think) and by Sunday night/Monday morning, couldn't walk, low BP (60/40), back to ER in ambulance, everything checked out fine, back home.  Next day, couldn't walk, almost passed out, O2 levels dropped drastically, back to ER in ambulance, CT Scan showed pulmonary embolism.  Spent from Tuesday to Friday in hospital and is finally back home and doing very well!!  So yes, we have a LOT to be thankful for this year!

I'll try to be back sometime over the long weekend with an update.  I have stash to show off!!!  LOL!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
